“More Than A Feeling” NVC Arts Summer Camp
July 15-19, 9:30-3:30
Facilitated by: Kinga Zak (Art Therapy Candidate from TATI), Erin Fleming (Teacher), Charlene Gray (ECE), and Grace Poercki-Workman (Youth Facilitator)
This is not your usual summer camp! Picture self-awareness mixed with peaceful communication skill development and arts therapy…we know adults who are wishing to sign up for this 4-12 years camp!
Our bodies reveal to us how we are feeling in response to stimuli in our environment. By developing our self-awareness we can learn to interpret our feelings and identify our needs and use this knowledge to make guesses about the feelings and needs of others.
Each day consists of a self-awareness theme, an artistic application using professional arts supplies (all art activities will be ready to go home on Friday), and daily opportunity for real life conflicts with support from nonviolent communication trained facilitators during our playborhood free time.
Themes include; developing self-awareness, how feelings are expressed inside our bodies, how feelings reveal clues to our needs, and how feelings can exist in layers and shift over time, and how to hold on to our needs and negotiate the strategies we have to meet our needs.
This camp is ideal for kids who like small groups (max of 15 kids to maintain a low adult-child ratio) and a gentle parenting approach.
Before and after care available upon request: email@example.com
We have also had requests for this camp to be offered in a half day format – that is possible, just send us an email…
