Excitement, worry, curiosity, anger, boredom…the end of summer can bring a lot of big feelings to young minds! Join us for a week of exploring those big feelings using art and nonviolent communication. A week of letting minds wander, play, and pursue the ideas they wish to explore is a relaxing way to end the summer and for some kids, this is a crucial time to work through some big feelings before starting a new school year.

Each day campers will have large blocks of time to pursue their own activities, much like our playborhood camp. Those activities could be building forts, creating with Lego, visiting our chickens, taking care of the plants in the garden, building Minecraft worlds, or reading a favorite book.

We will also offer a simple art activity each day that corresponds with our feeling of the day; Monday-worry, Tuesday- anger, Wednesday- excitement, Thursday-boredom, and Friday-curiosity. We will discuss how that feeling shows up in our bodies, what that feeling might be trying to tell us, and how we can work with that feeling to meet our needs. Learners are not required to take part in the feelings discussion and arts activity if they have other ideas they wish to pursue.

As with all of our camps, facilitators are always available to listen and talk through big feelings as they arise throughout the day.

This camp is multi-age, 4-12 yrs, and ideal for siblings and cousins who wish to attend together but are different ages. It is also a great choice for kids who respond well to gentle parenting approaches and parents like us because of our professional, qualified staff. We have a fairly low adult to child ratio too!

Our facilitators are Kinga Zak (TATI Arts Therapy Candidate) and Erin Fleming (Teacher).

Sign up for as few or as many days as you wish, before and aftercare is available upon request.

$58 per day.  Sign up for as many or as few as you wish!
